Cercle Odyssey
The world’s 1st large-scale series of immersive solo shows.
A JOURNEY BEYOND THE CONCERT
Cercle Odyssey is the world’s first large-scale, nomadic, 360-degree immersive concert installation, imagined by Derek Barbolla.
Each show unfolds around the artists on a central stage, with films projected onto towering 12-meter-high walls and ceilings, fully synchronized with the live music. The visuals reflect the profound connection between humanity and nature—a connection often lost in today’s fast-paced world.
The experience is powered by 16 dual 50K projectors, creating a seamless 360-degree visual canvas, alongside spatialized live sound developed in collaboration with IRCAM, and a custom lighting design by Rainbow. Every element is carefully crafted to fully immerse the audience, blending sound, image, and emotion into a powerful, unified experience.
The Odyssey film, directed by Neels Castillon, captures emotional and poetic moments that explore the relationship between art, nature, and the human spirit. Inspired by the adventures of Ulysses, it follows four modern-day explorers across some of the world’s most breathtaking and remote landscapes—from the golden dunes of Namibia to the lush forests of Polynesia, the mirror-like salt flats of Bolivia, and the icy highlands of Iceland.
Shot using groundbreaking technology, including a custom-built 360° FPV drone, the film offers an unprecedented immersive experience. Designed with modularity in mind, it allows musicians to curate and select fragments from the nine-hour film to adapt live into their music sets, creating a unique and original performance at every show.
Dance, elemental landscapes, nature’s hidden patterns, and human emotion weave together to tell a story that is both universal and deeply personal—an odyssey in every sense.
